Working with us
Working with us: processing, licensing and joint research
These are the ways we work, whatever the use. From trying the treatment on a single part to full joint research, we work out with you how to test it where it will be used.
Joint research and partnerships
The joint research we have carried out with a university and companies, and the research centre we take part in.
Joint research and field trials
We design and run sea trials together with universities, research institutes, companies and local governments.
Stage: Being tested, Joint research
In joint research under the Town & Gown initiative of Kure City and Hiroshima University (October 2025 to August 2026), four parties — Hiroshima University, Marine Craft Kazenoko, Inet and our company — researched systems that support oyster raft management and safe navigation.

Taking part in Hiroshima University’s COI-NEXT centre
Since October 2025, we have taken part in Hiroshima University’s JST COI-NEXT centre for a marine cultural city built on ocean remote-sensing technology.
Stage: Being tested, Joint research
We take part in Hiroshima University’s COI-NEXT centre as one of its consortium companies.

Processing, licensing and materials
Processing, licensing, selling treated materials and the other business models we are considering.
Processing and part testing
An idea in which our engineers bring the equipment to you and treat the parts or materials you use. We also welcome enquiries from anyone who would like to start by trying it on a part.
Stage: Concept,
We are considering a model with no factory of our own, in which our engineers bring the equipment to you and treat the parts you use. We start with parts about the size of a football, which fit our current equipment. Either we or a partner we have approved would carry out the work and be responsible for it.

Technology licensing
An idea for licensing the performance of the treatment to the manufacturers and contractors who handle mass production and installation.
Stage: Concept,
We protect our know-how in the treatment conditions (the recipe) as a trade secret, and plan to license the performance the treatment delivers, field by field and region by region.

Licensing the rice husk treatment equipment
An idea in which equipment makers build and run the machines that treat rice husks.
Stage: Concept,
We are considering a model in which equipment makers build and run the machines that treat rice husks, under a licence based on the volume treated.

Treated materials for restoring seagrass beds
An idea for selling treated materials, such as rope, for restoring seagrass beds.
Stage: Concept,
We are considering selling treated materials for restoring seagrass beds, such as treated rope, to fishing cooperatives, local governments and marine civil engineering firms.

Blue carbon credits
An idea for turning the carbon taken up by restored seagrass beds into credits.
Stage: Concept,
As a secondary option, we are also considering turning the carbon taken up by restored seagrass beds into credits.

Talking through a material or a problem (commissioned research and technical consulting)
From trying a surface treatment on your material (metal, ceramic or polymer) to designing how it would be used, we work it out with you. We also take enquiries about helping things take hold, such as getting a particular microbe to settle, and help sort out problems at sea that have not yet been solved. The first consultation is free.

How we take enquiries
We take enquiries on the contact page about any use — keeping things off, taking them off, helping them take hold, ocean data or beyond the sea — about processing, licensing, joint research and other ways of working, and from investors and the press. You do not need to have settled on a material or a place yet. If you have photos, please send them by email once we have replied.
Field site and partners
The sea at Kure is our test site.
Our development base is Marine Craft Kazenoko’s 2nd factory on Kurahashi Island. In the sea right in front of it, we can run trials on the seabed, in a natural eelgrass bed, on a sandy beach and at a pier, watching them with an underwater camera. Our joint research and the organizations we work with and receive support from are on this page too.
